On May 20, 2026, the Ad-Hoc Plenary Meeting of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) was officially held in Vientiane Capital and via video conference. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Phayvanh Keopaseuth, Deputy Minister of Health and Chair of the CCM for the Lao PDR.
The meeting was attended by the CCM Executive Committee, CCM members, the Oversight Committee (OC), the Resource Mobilization Committee (RMC), Ministry Representatives, Directors of Departments and Centers, along with representatives from development partners, international organizations, civil society organizations (CSOs), and relevant stakeholders participating both in-person and online.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Phayvanh Keopaseuth emphasized that this ad-hoc plenary meeting is of profound importance. It serves as a vital opportunity to jointly discuss, review, and endorse essential strategic initiatives to ensure the highly effective management and implementation of Global Fund grants. The meeting focused on three primary agendas:
• Agenda 1: Review and endorsement of the Resource Mobilization Committee (RMC) membership
• Agenda 2: Selection and endorsement of Principal Recipients (PRs)
• Agenda 3: Review and endorsement of the RAI5E Grant Cycle 8 (GC8) funding request for 2027-2029.
Dr. Phayvanh Keopaseuth also expressed his confidence in the high level of responsibility and extensive experience of all attendees. He encouraged straightforward and constructive contributions to ensure the meeting yielded fruitful results and successfully achieved all its set goals.
